The last day of the Nissan Kitesurf Pro in Noumea, New Caledonia also signaled the end of a great 2011 PKRA freestyle season.  The Noumea stop was won by Alex Pastor (ESP, Airush) and Asia Litwin (POL, Nobile).   After seven events on five continents all the results are in:  Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot) and Gisela Pulido (ESP, Airush) are the 2011 world champions.  The wind never came up on the last day to run the best trick competition, but everyone enjoyed the beautiful New Caledonian weather and the closing ceremony.

The trade winds gave way to lighter winds that were not suitable for running a best trick competition.  The wind did come up to about twelve knots at times allowing a few riders to go out  and practice on their light wind gear.  The Nissan Noumea Kitesurf Pro organized a show of acrobatic street break dance with a local troop, performing some pretty amazing moves followed by a fashion show.

The Reb Bull fashion show was the highlight of the day, putting smiles on the riders faces and  the lucky spectators who came down to the beach.  It was a great fashion and bikini contest with the PKRA riders being the judges.  The  PKRA criteria's of power, technical difficulty and execution were replaced by smile, talking, dancing  and emotion from the crowd. An international panel of riders was selected to judge the fashion show: Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot), Marc Jacobs (NZL, Switch Kites), Reno Romeu (BRA, North), Mario Rodwald (GER, North) and Alex Pastor (ESP, Airush) had some tough decisions to make, but being such professionals they could easily pick the top three.

The Nissan Noumea Kitesurf Pro put on a great show and it gave the riders a chance to take a break from the competition, after yesterday's action pack day.

Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot) and Sebastien Garat (FRA, RRD) took time to comment on their People's Riders Choice Award heat with Torrin Bright, the video will be posted on www.prokitetour.com

Check out the the daily shots of the bikini contest and the Livestream.

The second day of the Noumea Kitesurf Pro went on with the single elimination. It was an action pack day, with many amazing heats. The one thing that all the riders agreed on was that the conditions were challenging. This did not stop them from landing an array of great tricks. Unexpectedly, World Champion Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot) lost against Mario Rodwald (GER, North) in the quarter finals leaving Alex Pastor (ESP, Airsuh) to win the singles today over Marc Jacobs (NZL, Switch) and Alberto Rondina (ITA, Cabrinha). For the women Asia Litwin (POL, Nobile) took the win of this single elimination in Noumea.
